May 1st

From 6-9pm. North Miami Public Library Zakafest kicks off with an exquisite exhibit featuring Noelle Theard Photography, Rural Haiti Project and the art students of North Miami Senior High School Live music and hors d�oeuvres will be available.




May 2nd

From 6-9pm. North Miami Public Library Discover the origins of the mystical land�s sacred rhythms in this panel discussion on the genealogy of Haitian music with well-published scholars in ethno-musicology, mythology and history.



May 3rd

From 11-2pm Museum of Contemporary Art Express yourself with the entire family in the depth of primary colors during an afternoon of artistic rotations honoring the 5 elements of TIGA, followed by a book signing/presentation of his new publication with late artist�s daughter, Kafe.



From 10-3am Barchetta on the Bay Zakafest pre party with all the excitement of the invited musicians including Sanba Zao, Azaka, Marcus "Simido" Schwartz of Mozayik and an exclusive Foula Jazz reunion with all its founding members as they give you a taste of their dynamic flavor, in the beautiful bay view of this blissful venue. There will be a $30 donation in support of this week-end long cultural extravaganza.



May 4th

From 2-10pm. MOCA Plaza The event we have all been waiting for! A fun filled day of children�s activities, music, art, dance, step, drum, poetry and theatre in celebration of Work and Agriculture with Haitian culture gurus from all over the world. Vendors from Haiti will be present to showcase all exotic goods of the land for purchase.
